I've got this app on my phone - the basic features

Does anyone else here use this app ?

Is it worth upgrading to the full features - like pointing your phone at an aircraft in the sky , to find out where it's going etc etc - does it work
properly ?

i use the non-upgraded one all the time on my laptop and it tells me everything i want to know. i can see where all the flights going over me are heading, their flight time, altitude, what kind of plane it is and search for specific flights if i want to track a friend/relative flying. I suppose if you were a real planespotter the point at the sky thing might be fun but I'd never want it.

I must have the wrong thing downloaded then ; because it's telling me that origin/destination , departure / estimated arrival time , altitude/speed - is available after upgrade .

The only info i'm getting is the operator and flight number
Maybe you ought not use it near foreign military bases ;-)
Yes it does work, I find it really good, interesting to see what's above you even if you can't actually see it due to clouds etc, writing this reply while sitting in the garden using the app. And listening on an air band receiver. (Sad eh?).

Is there a difference between Flightradar24 as opposed to Flightradar.com ?
I use Flightradar24.com and it shows all the things you mention that you want and it's free. If as Prudie says you want to track a flight just put the flight number in the search bar and it goes straight to it.

Did you see my post at 13:33 ?

It's asking me to upgrade for £ 2.49 to get further information , apart from operator and flight number ( £2.49 is neither here nor there ,i know ) .

I'm just trying to ascertain if other people get this additional info , without this £ 2.49 , upgrade - or is there something not working with the downloaded app

Maybe you should remove it altogether then download again. I get all of the above free on the version I have. The only other thing it may be is that the phone version is not quite the same as the laptop one. Worth trying the first bit before paying for it though.

ok - i'll try that
bazile you are on the right lines, I use Flightradar24.com which is free but that's on my laptop. I've just checked the free flightradar I have as an app on my phone (that i hardly ever use) and that does ask to pay for an upgrade for more info. I suppose if you want to use it on your phone and get extra stuff you will have to pay.
I have the un upgraded on my phone. If I tap on a plane I get a menu bar come up. Which I can select, which gives me all info, inc speed, height, long and lat, reg etc plus 3D which gives Google pilots view.

It works on my lappy

malagabob

That's curious - where did you download your app from ?
I use it when I see planes - I've got the full version.

Can't say that I've used the live camera feature.

It would appear then , that if you want any more info, other than the name of the airline and flight number - on your phone - you will have to pay for it
