Sticky Petunia Leaves

Why are my petunia leaves sticky ... no sign of any pests ...... I have self wardrobes, but that only waters roots..am going to give them a hose down this evening ... any other suggestions?

All petunias are sticky. It is their defence mechanism. If the leaves are also going yellow it might be aphids.

I agree with divebuddy. i grow petunias every year and the leaves and flowers are always sticky - they grow beautifully throughout the summer.
Agree with divebuddy. The last thing you want to do is hose them down....petunia flowers hate water on them.

PS.....wish i could have "self wardrobes" watering my Petunias.....LOL
