he spent too much time on the PR aspects since London in my opinion....bronzed he may be, gold he is not.
Two fabulous medals have been Bryony Paige (trampolining) and Amy Tilling (the youngest winner - floor gymnastics) - inspirational winners for the future.
Divebuddy - reported.
@DT....I know some may say it matters not ...but he was extraordinary in the qualifying round. Absolutely electric. Beat the Chinese and achieved his own personal best. But it seems to give folk pleasure to ignore that and forget just how much pressure some of these young athletes are under. Unfortunately all his effort was used too early.

I know, pasta, but this is one young athlete post London who has over-cooked it from a PR aspect and I think it all caught up with him - a shame, I must say - will he go for Tokyo? I hope so - and cut down on the BBC appearances etc please.....
DT - I believe Tom Daley has already confirmed that he will go to Tokyo - hopefully whatever happened this time will have been respolved by then.
well, if he is really going to prove that he has it........good luck and keep the head low for four years.
I read somewhere earlier that as he is no longer funded, it's the TV and personal appearances that provide his income now. So maybe a necessary evil of fame.
maybe he needs to redress that?
It's only August so I'll hang fire for now, I'm hoping that Chris Froome can win the Vuelta, in which case I'll vote for him. Failing that, it'll be Mo or Jason Kenny. Either way I back Brendan Foster's call that Mo be knighted.
But if Froome DOES win the Vuelta I'd argue he deserves one too!
Katherine Grainger, rowing silver medallist. Put it together on the day despite two very indifferent seasons to achieve the feat of medalling in five successive Olympics.
Has to be Laura Trott. Most successful British female Olympian of all time.
Ooh I forgot about Laura x
Alistair brownlee
Amy Tinkler, not Amy Tilling, DTC.

I don't think Murray should win it a third time, especially not in an Olympic year, which is ironic really because 2016 is already shaping up to be his best year ever. Lost yesterday but set his highest winning streak beforehand, and has already made seven finals in a row.

Don't think Vardy should get it either. Give Leicester the Team of the Year award.

Has to be an (exclusive) Olympian, I'd say. A top three of Laura Trott, Mo Farah and maybe Max Whitlock (not necessarily in that order), although goodness only knows how many other people deserve to be up there too.
