Olympic Gold medals are required to be made from at least 92.5% silver, and must contain a minimum of 6 grams of gold.[6] All Olympic medals must be at least 60mm in diameter and 3mm thick.

no they are a mixture of silver and other metals often recycled now

Since the US government pays $25,000 to their winners I doubt the Olympic champions are too concerned about their tax bill.
