Surely they haven't got it wrong again ?

Yes...the Kiwi woman went off in a huff last week ! This new woman is already part of the panel.

How long she will last is anybodies guess.
she'll last as long as it takes for the skeletons to come rattling out of her cupboard - bet she's found to be too close to the establishment, or a second cousin of a friend of an alleged perpetrator, etc....
she has already lasted longer than the first hasnt she ?
and any skeletons would have come out by now
and finally she is acceptable to the victims
BUT she aint a lawyer
Just been seeing this on TV news, the scope of the inquiry is breathtaking 13 separate inquiries rolled into one . It is expected to last at least another 10 years !
Just one enquiry has over 500 boxes of documents that have not even been looked at yet and 1500 reports. She will be lucky if she gets through it all before she reaches retirement age.
Unfortunately I dont hold out any hope of anything useful coming out of this enquiry.
The supporters of this are wanting to see people charged and convicted of child abuse offences committed, in most cases, very many years ago.
They want to see 'Justice Done'. I fully understand their point but I just can't see it happening. For a start most of them will be dead before the enquiry comes to a conclusion.
The inquiry would be better to find ways of making certain that such abuse can never happen again.

Eddie....."The inquiry would be better to find ways of making certain that such abuse can never happen again"

I think that is the heart of the Inquiry.
^^ Yes exactly but the victims relatives I have seen on TV all want to see people 'pay' for their crime. Unfortunately I think that is VERY unlikely to happen !
This is just going to be a bonanza for the lawyer's, a licence to print money that will last for years or quite possibly decades.
I know you have, quite rightly, been very concerned by this for a long time.
But I just can not see any convictions coming out of this, and the cost will be astronomical .
