Have these people every right to protest, or are they, as classed by some in Britain, just far-right, knuckle dragging, racist fascists?

1a. Yes, they have.
1b. No they are not.
Far-right, knuckle dragging, racist fascists have every right to protest as the next person.

A few thousand people isn't at all significant. Merkel is a Conservative and very popular so is not likely to be going anywhere soon.
Yes, every right to a peaceful protest.

Let's hope it is just that.
I think the twists have more right than most to be angry at their leaders' policies. Thank gawd we are an island!

And if I were German, I would be one of them with my walking stick.
I'd need my stick too, I'd likely fall over otherwise.
not sure who Hugh is, or why the german public might seek to demonstrate in his name..... :-)
The one in Cologne tomorrow will be more interesting (if it is allowed to go ahead)
No country can police, in this day and age, essentially unlimited immigration. As Syria is getting to be an Isil killing zone they are leaving and causing mayhem at soft targets elsewhere. They dont appear to have any strategy beyond terror as nobody will ever negotiate with them. Even other Muslims are condemning their actions and refusing to bury one of the priest murderers.
