Has anyone used a company to claim PPI that they would recommend.
I am pretty sure that I am owed it by Barclays but it was a long time ago and I have no paperwork.
I accept that I will have to pay a percentage, (up to 25% if necessary) but I don't want to end up owing them money.
I tried a company but the small print went on for ever and I didn't want to sign something I hadn't read.
Any thoughts?

Jennykenny ALL you have to do is write one letter to Barclays (or any other places you may have had ppi) and ask them if you had ppi with them. They have to do all the works and checking for you, it costs nothing and the worst that can happen is that they say you did not have ppi. They then have to pay you the entire amount without deductions. All a PPI claim company will do is write the letter on your behalf and take 30% of a payout.

Eddi I wrote yo Barclays about two years ago and they just ignored me. No response, no answer. But I will try again.
The rules have been made a lot easier for people to claim since then. The banks have been ordered to make more effort to help. They must at least tell you if you do not have ppi, they can't just ignore you.
Hopefully not too late but if you call or pop into your local Citizens Advice Centre they will help you fill in a claim form. There is a website that gives the option of claiming yourself using template based letters or using their services, www.helpandclaim.com I cannot endorse them as I have not used them.
