Serious question.

When you read the Express, and specifically stories about Brexit, do you take them with a pinch of salt, or believe them?

Last week, I pointed a nonsense Brexit story, but apparently - it's not a one off!

Actually, perhaps I should ask - does anyone read the Express any more???

I had a look at the webpage this morning. Absolute piffle, most of it.
I'd rather try to choose my own nose off than read the Express.
Is it still owned by the man who made his money from pornography?
No idea what the spellchecker did there. For choose read chew.
It should also be added to the list that the Express recently published a story headlined "NO evidence of impact to UK Science from Brexit, says Nobel Laureate", or words to that effect. Except, he didn't say that, and was referring specifically to Horizon 2020 funding deals not being affected, whilst also warning of effects that have happened (many due to perceived risks, rather than actual ones, to be fair) whereby British Scientists have been excluded from some EU-based projects and consortia, and other planned collaborations have been postponed; and was concerned about the effect of the Referendum vote on the perception of the UK when it comes to Science. All of this is to say that a) there are legitimate fears of damage to the UK's reputation, even though of course these fears may not be realised, and so b) it was absolutely *not* the point of Venki Ramakrishnan's speech to say that Brexit had no effect. The Daily Express simply lied in reporting his comments that way.

I read it to keep in touch with what Princess Diana is up to.
BA to Ellipsis! That made me laugh.

Not unless you or another posters puts up a link to the Express.
That's why I was looking at the website, Talbot, following a link by someone on here.

I just wanted to make that clear. It's the only time I look at The Daily Mail website, too. I would not willingly read either of them.
Here's another question for Express readers......why buy the bloody thing in the first place ?
"Actually, perhaps I should ask - does anyone read the Express any more???"

But you probably knew that.
It's an inflammatory rag, like the mail.

It's a paper, probably one of the ones that pushes the buttons of it's readers more than the others - but they are all the same - including the Guardian !!

And no, I dont read it, unless someone posts a link.

Faith restored. AB obviously has a better class of readership.
SP1814.....The Express is simply an irrelevance when it comes to Britain's media.

It has all the credibility as the National Enquirer, but none of the fun.

I thought your 'serious question' was:

/// Question To Daily Express Readers ///

How come the majority who answered would never read it?
'Cos they're all far too intellectual, aog. ;o)
The Express this morning also reports that most Scots according to a poll, would wish to remain within the UK despite Brexit. This is also reported by Reuters;
http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-eu-scotland-idUKKCN1092OI
So is this also "piffle"?
It seems that many on here wish to dismiss any news which doesn't suit their prejudices.
