I live in a terraced house with a small garden which I love. On one side is a family of 5 adults - the parents, and 3 kids in their 30's including one with Down's syndrome who is a lovely lad. But none of them have any concept of noise. The dad drinks like a fish and can pick arguments with the garden wall. Today they had visitors who must have had a teeny baby as one of the adults decide to amuse it by pretending to throw up. Imagine the notice when you are being violently sick- He did this over and over for an hour. I had visitors and they were almost retching the sound was so bad. I just didn't know what to do. They are lovely people but you just cannot sit on your garden and enjoy it. My hubby says leave well alone and just ignore it but it's so hard. Its now 9pm and they are effing and blinding at each other at the top of their voices. Just interested in opinions guys xx

I've actually just bumped into the lady next door whilst unloading my car and she came over and apologised for the weekends noise before I had said a word. She says her husband got into a row at work last week and just walked out - 2 years before he is due to retire and they've said he isn't entitled to his work pension now(don't know if she is right) and so she is stressed beyond belief at how stupid he has been!
oh dear!
nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors
wow that was lucky -probably someone else had a go at them so they are doing a mass apology. Can't see how stress would make a person pretend to vomit for hours though
Well, it's good that she apologised, at least. Perhaps they'll be more considerate in future.

Retro chic- I think it's was the lad with Down's who was doing it to try and make the baby laugh. It sounded very like him anyway - he has a distinctive voice x
