My retractable hose came off the kitchen tap and spiraled out of control soaking the ceiling and catching the fire alarm which was set off. I have switched it off at mains but the upstairs one keeps beeping. Will the downstairs one dry out (was only damp) and will it work again?

I guess time will tell. Is it any better this morning ?

It was beeping all night but I have turned electric on this morning and all is quiet. Hopefully it has dried out .
Oh dear what a nightmare. You might want to get a spark in to run a test on your electrics in case water got into the power sockets. Hope all is well.
Good to hear. I trust you have a button to test it.

I have tested it and all is well. Bit wary of using the hose again but I will be very careful when I do
I would be too. Can you not replace with a better connection ?
