How are you? Haven't been here for a while, have been busy. ;)

I need some advice. I want to do a teaching assistant job, but I have no clue as to what qualifications I need and where to begin. If anyone has any advice, it will be most welcome. tia xx

There are national job descriptions and person specs for all levels of Teaching Assistant. Classroom Assistant is the entry level which requires no specific qualification. Ask your local children's services dept and they will give you a copy of appropriate levels

Literacy, enthusiasm and commitment will do for a start. :)
Approach your local school which teaches the age-range you feel you have empathy for and ask them for further details. Good luck.
Google 'teaching assistant vacancies in....your area' and you will a good idea of what they are looking for.

General info here:

Its best to have some local connections as well as the relevant skills and quals as every vacancy attracts a heap of applicants from parents of the children at the school. If you can, offer your time voluntary at a couple of local schools and hope to find yourself in the right place at the right time.
hi phleb xx how are you ??
