I think something has gone wrong with your PC. Do you have a past restore point you can load, thus removing recent additions and retrying the update ?

if your drive is that full it will be slowing your machine down significantly - offload all your media to a couple of sticks and make some serious choices as to what you really need to keep on your machine - alternatively go to ebuyer where a new hard disk is very cheap.
