I'm watching Fox & CNN channels, and its peaceful at the moment.

Watched one Video, and it certainly looked like the cop shot the bloke at close range while he was on top of him on the ground.

It is a laudable idea, but the police must inevitably be the last ones to give up the guns. So not going to have an immediate effect on this specific issue.

It would need a gradual approach not a massive amnesty. First off, right to own a gun laws need to be repealed. Then it should be much harder to qualify for a legal gun thus making them less available and fewer guns available for illegal activity. (Certainly the higher powered stuff should be military only.) Eventually the supply dwindles until the country is effectively as gun free as it is possible to be.

What I can't understand about the Philando Castile shooting, is why, when her boyfriend is being shot dead by the police, she gets out her mobile phone switches it on, selects the appropriate camera app. then selects video, all this so she can film her boyfriend being shot dead by the police inside his car, yet no thought regarding her grandchild's safely in her continuing quest to get it all on record?

When you see some of the videos on F/B of the USA cops at incidents, their actions do come over as if you were watching some of the old cowboy movies.

But that of course it maybe, because so many people carry firearms?

It is probably the first thing lots of black people do when pulled up by the cops in America. She didn't know how horrific the event would turn out to be.

exactly...

some years ago i was in the holiday Inn, houston...coincidentally at the same time as the Texas Narcotics and DEA were holding their annual convention..

sitting at the bar and there were officers openly talking about shoot outs like it was a daily run of the mill occurrence (which it probably was )...no mention of race, just bullets flying etc etc....
got chatting to a few of them.... "meet us later and well go out to a club for drinks etc..."...went out that evening and to a man and a women, all dressed in mufti and all had guns either in a holster or just tucked in their jean tops !
...they dont care who they shoot, if they feel threatened theyll shoot, its as simple as that...
