Now that half the country is alienated how will our "leaders" heal the wounds going forward?

Calm down TTT

The price on leave has gone from 7/1 to 9/4 on betfair in the last 15 minutes

It isn't over yet.
Just like a European footie match! Life imitating football?
Hate tea and never have sugar in my coffee

Sterling has just been belted down v hard and gold rising .
The Geordies are staying in.
But the mackems are not having it.
Who are the mackems?
Don't know what all that means Talbot (not a betting lady) but I have £20 on 'Leave' at 4 to 1 against, placed a couple of weeks ago. Do I start to think of a decent meal out instead of shrugging my shoulders?? I can't remember where I posted it, but I suddenly had a calm feeling about Brexit. 'Bout an hour ago, well, we'll see.......whatever happens, happens :)
yes, I think independence for London would solve the problem. (Of course the rest of the country might find it difficult to cope, since a Londoner contributes a full 70% more to the national income than a non-Londoner. But hey, they'd have their sovereignty.)

Thanks, jno, but I still don't know what the poster meant.
I'm cashing out my £230 profit on the night.
Miliband (on BBC) thinks *all* Labour voters will vote Remain. Out of touch?

I would have thought so, Hypognosis. My guess is more will vote to leave.
@jno

Labour voters should appreciate how socialism works better than anyone. You pays yer taxes and the money goes "away", ie to whichever area is most deprived/deserving except, instead of being close to home, or just up the road, it means somewhere on the other side of Europe, still busily decompressing from life under the Soviets.

The fact that countries are regionally unequal, in the wealth stakes is lost on the EU which treats UK as a single, "uniformly prosperous" entity (or not, given injection of cash into impoverished areas, remote from London).

National governments must now compete for loyalty with the EU administration structure. Which is interesting. The referendum is the first outward manifestation of this (give or take Scottish independence vote).
Hypognosis, I'd be interested to know if any of the poor regions voting to leave have actually received any EU grants. (Ever, I mean, not this week.) Also why they imagine they'll do better under a British government when so far they haven't.

If Lambeth is any indication of London's predelictions for remain then we shouldn't get our hopes up, over the early results. Glasgow heavy for Remain too. :-/

I'm a Labour voter and am Remain in this referendum. Because of the business I work in, I don't meet many Labour or Remain voters. Almost everyone I've talked to about this recently have said I'm the only Remain voter they know, which worries me.
Still close now, but looking like Out, unfortunately.
