I Have Been Growing Indoor Tomato Plants From Seed

but today I am seeing little black flies around them, but te plants look healthy. It is an experiment I am trying from the actual seeds of a proper tomato. What should I do to get rid of them please ?

Squash them, or spray with soapy water, or an organic insecticide, or add a predator to the plant.

It's good if growing tomatoes to use seeds of the tomato. If you use pumpkin seeds instead the tomatoes get very large :-)

It'd be your friend for life. Just hope he doesn't like a side salad.

The flies are possibly aphids. Maybe there is a friendly ladybird around.

I will look for one x
possibly 'scariad flies'. they live in the compost and can attack the roots of seedlings.
fortunately there are sprays on the market to treat them.

Failing that, invest in a Venus fly trap :-)
Sciarid flies would've been my suggestion however, they are harmless to all but the smallest seedlings. They used to swarm to unbelievable numbers when I worked at the nursery but never caused any harm.

They are tiny black flies
Run ur fingers (gloved) over & squash them
I always just squish 'em..run fingers up stems..ungloved....me big brave girl ! lol
Thats right Sciarid flies, aka fungus gnats (excuse my bad spelling earlier), they are a nuisance, especially indoors.

lady birds and hedgies are the bestest for gardens
We'd best get Boaty's tiggy on hire...we'd make a good team...yummy fresh slugs n aphid treats...ecover is a good product..i would try this....to replant seedlings into different soil...xx

I have spryed them with a little soapy water and ATM there are none
