I have just had an email from BT, that says that my internet speed has now been upgraded to up to 52Mb. I tested this on my iphone, using Speedtest by OOKLA, and found I was getting about 50Mb.

But when I tried the same with my Packard Bell desktop, I found I am getting about 27Mb !

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable way of testing my download speed please ?

Thanks Balders....I got 21Mb with that one. I guess its dependent on the time of day.

I'm with BT just checked mine D/load 43.44 and U/load 14.6

Thanks.
Your computer might be further from your router than your phone. Or may be running software in the background that is affecting your download speed.
'Up to' can mean anything and be dependent upon equipment being used and if Wireless or Hard Wired connection is being used.

I don't think you will find a more reliable Tester than OOKLA.

Hans.
