Hi all
Just a quick question - a family member in Lincoln is "not very savvy" with her laptop and often phones me for advice. I believe I have heard that there is software available that would enable me to access her laptop from my PC to assist her with her "problems" - is this possible does any body know ??
Many thanks

I use Teamviewer

Nut I suspect there are others.
There are ways. At work we use something called logmein, but you have to buy a licence and it is expensive. I see there are other ways, e.g. as per details on this link;
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/connect-using-remote-desktop-connection#connect-using-remote-desktop-connection=windows-7
I've also used .. teamviewer.com.. they do a free version and you wont have to get involved in fees or a subscription. Really useful tool ... it means you can look at grannys computer and see what she has done wrong, without having to visit
Clearly I typed a 'B' :-(
We use LogMeIn, for our registered clients, and LogMeIn Rescue for ad hoc support. They work out quite expensive.

But for personal clients, I use ZoHo assist which is similar and offers a free version that has similar security to LogMeIn - i.e. they have to give explicit permission for each separate support session.
I use Teamviewer as well.

I can control another computer via the ipad, but you can't do computer to ipad!
