How have you managed with no pump or filter? I didn't know that was possible. I have been looking after pond for 11 years.
Maybe the warm weather made the algae bloom and ruin conditions.
Can only start again with filters etc. I suppose.
Not that I'm any expert.
Do you live under a flight path? a friend of mine lives near Heathrow and she has lost fish a couple of times because a plane has dumped fuel over her house. They say they don’t but she sees the residue on the water.
at 42 C I'm not surprised your pond has gone murky, I'm surprised it has not dried up all together! Your fish have been cooked !
The murky water might not have any bearing on why you have a dead fish. The frog might have been trying to mate with the fish- it usually leaves a gruesome outcome.

(And no, im not making it up!)

Had a lot of oxigenator plants with papyrus and lotus plants but no frogs till a few months back.I used to add water daily and it was perfect.the fishes were very happy coz moved them from an aquarium to the pond.the ecosystem was perfect. I was very happy to receive the frogs but that seems to be the problem with the heat.huge frogs that mated and now have a zillion tatpoles.the poor fishes look much more stressed and hide if they feel any movement.I am not under a flight route.
You need to do a decent water change....30% and then find a way of aerating the water.....usually with some sort of fountain (solar powered???) Warm water contains far less oxygen then cold water. that's your problem and you might of had a fair few tadpoles die in the heat too....which just adds to the pollution and lack of O2.
You ony need pumps and filters if a pond is overstocked and /or fed or overfed. Oxygenating plants absorb oxygen at night when they are not photosynthesising. It is safer to have very few plants as they have a high oxygen consumption when they decay. Most of the oxygen in ponds is absorbed from the atmosphere.

Thank u Mark and jomifi for the valuable knowledge. Will change 30% of the water and will aerate.
Aeration works more by circulating the water so that oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange quicker at the surface than by injecting air into the water.
