e.g. Gin makes you angry. Rum makes people aggressive. Wine makes you sleepy.

Any truth in this theory?

I think different people react to alcohol in different way. I drink ale and it just makes me a bit wobbly, but then i'm not an aggressive person. Yet I have mates who would pick a fight with anyone when drunk on the same stuff. Another mate doesn't stop talking....and the more he drinks, the louder he gets and another mate doesn't show any effects at all.....all on the same ale.
I love (occasionally) going to the pub and not drinking.....to watch everyone and how drunk they're getting....hilarious.
And too much gin makes you weepy.
Hammerman...I was brought up in a pub. Some tipsy people are hilarious and some can change the whole atmosphere of the pub. Like you I used to enjoy sitting back and watching people.
Stella is known as "wife beater".

My OH is a Stella drinker. I'd rename it as 'sleeping juice'
