/// I think that was the other Loon, to be fair, AOG. ///

No, sp's 12.05 post.

/// By the way, is the thread not about increasing diversity, as opposed to Muslims in particular? ///

Muslims are part of diversity, and this thread is about one in particular.
So the question *was* actually yet another one aimed at Muslims, rather than about the 'Quest for Diversity' as which is was so cunningly disguised?

Who'd a thunk it......?
*it was...

In a time of an increasing threat of terrorism, we are told to be vigilant.

Can you honestly say that in a travel situation be it by bus, train or aeroplane, would you scrutinise more, someone who was of Muslim appearance and carrying a bag, rather than a fellow passenger who was white or black and dressed in western type clothes?
SP, //Surely THECORBYLOON is comparing one set of terrorists with another set of terrorists?//

He is comparing a set of terrorists patriotic to Ireland and with a specific political agenda relevant to that country to a set of terrorists patriotic to … where?

Terrorism committed In the name of Islam knows no patriotism and it knows no boundaries. That is the difference and that is what people who compare one to the other consistently fail to comprehend.

You are wrong yet again, this was about the quest for diversity where a person who happened to be a Muslim was consequently taken from the diversity numbers by committing a crime.

He could have quite happily have been a female or a black or a Sikh or anyone who wasn't White and Male, and thus being added to the diversity figures, but in this case he happened to be a male Muslim.
In NI one problem for innocent Catholics was the number of Loyalist terrorists in the security forces.
One notorious example, the UVF gang which attacked and killed members of The Miami Show and was made up mostly of serving soldiers in the Ulster Defence Regiment.
/but in this case he happened to be a male Muslim. //

... just for a change. Surprise, surprise!
You are confusing the 'Quest for Diversity' with the numbers of officers accrued under the 'scheme'.

The 'scheme' is, indeed, one (muslim) officer light, now.......however, the 'quest' remains intact.

I take public transport every day.

I live in London which has a large Muslim population, many of whom take public transport.

It has never once occurred to me to scrutinise anyone...ever.

If someone were acting suspiciously I would probably try to remember them for descriptive purposes...but when I travel, I'm usually emailing, reading a book on my phone and listening to music on headphones.

I don't really pay attention to other travellers.

I suspect that the children growing up without their fathers or mothers and the families of the countless victims of the IRA might not really care about the finer points of a terrorist's agenda.

When you're blown to bits, a terrorist is pretty much a terrorist.
sp, nice try at deflection, but it doesn't work. The whole world has cause to be concerned about these terrorists.

Or to the real world it would seem, lets hope your lack of vigilance, doesn't one day blow up in your face.
