A routine check-up with practice nurse today. Pulse was 40bpm. BP OK. She consulted Dr and told to stop atenolol. A bit anxious about this. Is this usual. Also on lisinopril 5mg and bendroflumethiazide 2,5mg. Thanks for any comments

Quite correct. Atenelol is a beta blocker and the side effects include a slow pulse rate (Bradycardia) Your pulse rate of 40bpm is very slow and although there are other causes for this, Atenolol is the main culprit. Monitor the situation.
