A tree in my neighbors garden has collapsed into my garden demolishing 3 fence panels. She has contacted her insurance who have told her she can claim up to £500 to pay to have it removed, The query is, they have told her the fence panels have to be claimed on public liability. What is she on about.

Are the fence panels yours or hers? I think that what they mean is that the insurance that she has with them doesn’t cover damage to someone else’s property only to hers....which is irrelevant to you....her trees caused the damage to your fence panels therefore she pays up to repair/replace the panels.
It sounds like she didn't take up the option on her policy to cover her liability for damage to other people or their property. That doesn't make her not liable for the damage; it means that the insurance company won't pay for it, she'll have to. So, as Woolfie says, she has to pay to have the fence repaired. Of course, if the fence belongs to her, she doesn't have to replace it at all.

As in update. Back a month ago I took it upon myself to get material prices, the intention was for the neighbor to buy and I would do the labour. and gave them to the neighbor, where bye she said her insurance has told her to submit 2 quotes.
I have left it in her hands since then, but has not been in touch since.
If she has submitted quotes, wouldn't she have been told by now.
I went round today but could not get an answer, even though I knew she was in.
Is getting my insurance involved a good move. Assuming I can get her insurance providers details.
TIA
She can't pretend to be out forever. Try again this evening.
Was that 2 quotes about removing the tree only ? You seemed to imply she wasn't covered for the damage caused. If so then she has either to cover the bills herself (maybe reestablish your earlier agreement) or she is hoping to get out of it in which case, as a last resort, let your insurers sort it out.
answered on your other thread. If its her fence she doesn’t have to do a thing. If its your fence then she has to fund the repair (assuming its her tree) Do you know whose fence it is?
