Can you sign in to Gravatar and see if it's still there?

Check AB profile to make sure it's activated.
Make sure email used for AB and Gravatar are the same.
On Gravatar make sure image is G rated and selected for use.
If a non-contentious avatar has disappeared it's probably most that you've got a different email address registered with Gravatar than the one that you've got registered with the Answerbank. (Your email address is the only way that AB can link you to what's on Gravatar, so you MUST use the same address).

If you think that there might be a different reason, first check that your avatar is actually enabled in 'My Profile'. Then log into Gravatar to see what's shown there as your avatar.

If problems persist, get a new email address (e.g. at http://www.gmx.co.uk ), change the address in your AB profile to match it, create a new Gravatar account (using that address) and re-upload your chosen picture to the site.
That's the annoying bit about sites using Gravitar. If you don't wish to be recognised as the same individual at every site you are a member of, yet want an avatar at each, you've got to go create a different darned e-mail address for each. Ideally Gravitar should be an option for an avatar rather than the only option.

I thought that my own cats were silly enough but that's just plain ridiculous ;-)
