Please I have a 42in., Sony television now for a few weeks while watching something the volume will just go nothing , right now I have to switch it off then switch back on and the volume is working I have gone onto settings where it all looked ok , I simply am at a loss any suggestions would be welcome thank you.

It may have no effect, but I would try unplugging it for a short while. Most things in the world these days seem to benefit from this.

When I first bought our TV there was a fault the company that I bought it from came out and inserted a SD card ( I think) and did something which sorted out problem and has worked fine since.
Is it under warranty ? If so the obvious thing is to get the shop to send it back for fixing.

Does the on screen volume display show it going down? If so perhaps the remote is faulty.
