About 35 years ago I planted red tulips which have bloomed faithfully until about 5 years ago when they started coming up as yellow ones up until 2 years ago there were only 2 rather small red ones left. Now it looks like this year we are having a red tulip renaissance. Although they have yet to open we can see that there are 13 red ones.
Has anyone heard of this happening and if so why? I haven't EVER planted any yellow bulbs.
We are finding this both interesting and hilarious.

Not that uncommon and can be the result of a virus, doesn't sound a serious issue though.

My cowslips, planted 10+ years back, turned dark some years ago.
I meant to say dark red.
