It might help if you define 'the left button' more clearly, please?

Is it the catch to open the lid? Or perhaps the button to eject a disc? Or is it one of the keys on the keyboard (and, if so, which one)?
When that happens to me (often) it's because it has crumbs under it.

Sorry I should of said left button on the key pad, I have tried using one of those air pressure can to clean the keys but I will have another go.
Esc,caps lock,shift, which one?
You could try this if you are confident & careful.

Still won't play.
If its a keyboard issue replacing it is neither difficult or expensive. There are videos on Youtube.
Sorry about that, it won't play on here.
Put this into youtube.
How to clean your Laptop's keyboard by removing the keys tutorial
Basically, lift the key out and clear out underneath. Then replace, they clip on in place.
Another idea is to use an external keyboard if you have one.
