fell last week right back onto my lower back on a tiled wet floor. pain is very bad but i do not want to sit in A/E for 6 hrs waiting on xray only to be told its muscular pain.

surely if there was anything broke down there or fractured i would not be able to walk ?

ive ibrophen cream but its useless, what else could help the healing ?

phone doctors as soon as they open on Monday, they might get you in for an x-ray sooner than waiting at a&e

You really should have gone to see about it sooner y'know (nagging is now over) x
People have walked on broken limbs before discovering they were doing so. You've made the error of timing your fall for Saturday, otherwise you could go see your GP in the morning. Why not take it easy for the weekend and if still worried check it out with your GP on Monday ? It's probably bruising/strain but no harm in being certain. Or invest in a 6 hours wait, take a book.
Maybe you've bruised your coccyx. Take some painkillers and see how it goes.
I echo Tilly. I once fell (roller skating) and bruised my coccyx - hurt like Hell. It needs checking out.

jourdain, tilly, does it heal , how long before it heals ? i took 500 mg ibrophen last night , did no good whatsoever.
If it is bruising, it will heal, eventually. Perhaps you need stronger painkillers. Go to your GP.

dont understand.. no bruising, none. with the pain of it i was expecting to look 2 days later and bruising from my mid back/ ribs to my knees but nothing.
die - if it is your coccyxx - it takes quite a long time. you are aware of pain for quite a while then you wake up and it has gone.

I had a friend who nearly broke her back some years back in the garden and fell onto a concrete planter - but only rest helped. hope you feel ok soon.
If it is your coccyx, there is nothing you can do but take painkillers. As my GP said, there is more danger from an X-ray than a broken coccyx and there is nothing they can do if it is broken.
It will take its own time.
I echo the others. It takes time, can't remember how long I'm afraid, a few weeks at least.
^^^^ Now it's more than 24 hrs., try alternate ice and heat. (Put a cloth between the ice-pack and the skin.)
