after weeks of soul-searching i think i have come down on the side of brexit. i love the idea of EEC but don't like EU . how can we belong to an organization that can't or won't get its books audited. the amount of corruption and profligacy is staggering, saying nothing about the preposterous decamping from brussels to strasbourg once a month. finally the diktats from the unelected council of ministers, most of which are ludicrous are totally unacceptable

baldric

should that be - come over to the dark side ?
The EU finances are auditted every year and are always signed off by the accountants.
All EU directives have to be voted on by the democratically elected MEPs before they become official policy.

By all means choose brexit, but trying going finding a legitimate reason not bogus ones.

bazile there's nothing dark about leaving one of the most corrupt organisations ever.

Good thinking. We have a magpie and a Jackdaw with Britain exit now. Flocking to the cause.
Why are the younger members of AB so frightened? We are not stepping into the unknown. Some of us remember when the UK was a stronger independent country who could fend for itself. We still could if the financial shackles were snapped and we left the EU.
We are an Island. A maritime nation. Where is our once great fishing fleet that gave brave men their livelihood and cheap food for us?It got beached and bulldozed by the czars of Europe.
We now have French and Spanish fishing boats pulling in to Newlyn for shelter in a storm after raping our fishing grounds. Just one of hundreds of examples where we are shat upon by the EU. They are all take and give us SWFA. They should be frightened ones, and are,not young people. Europe needs our financial support to survive their diasterous Euro. They can do nothing right. Schengen!!!! They now rue the day.Get shot of this albatros and for christ sake will the young show some backbone in this country .Like Cameron they seem frightened to go italone as we always did.

Well said RC.
So because someone disagrees that means that they are frightened?

What a daft statement!
This Jackdaw flocked to the cause in 1972 and has bee there ever since.
The debacle that was the Euro and the farce which is Germanys descision to encourage uncontrolled (and dangerous) migration has made the descision for me...out.

Welcome to sanity and democracy, magpie :)
I voted not to go in in the first place. I want my country back. Roll on the referendum.
