I am getting a pop up asking do I want to leave this page never had it before is it something new on answerbank?

I get that if I try diverting to another page or site before I have "submitted" a question or answer that I have typed.

Oh yes, that could be it Ratter - if you enter anything (or even focus your cusor) on the answer/question box, the page will ask you to confirm that you want to leave. Is this what happened Jordy?
