A couple of times lately I have had strange pains in my head. Not headache, more like electric shocks. Very short bursts of pain, no other symptoms . Any ideas?

What do you mean by "lately?"....last day...last 2 days.....last week.....last 2 weeks ?
Electric shock sensations in the head are quite common in folk coming off certain antidepressants.

Hi sqad, more like six months, a couple of times a week. I was relaxing today when it happened.
Baths, not coming off of any meds. x
Do you get them when you move your head ? Trapped nerve in neck?
OK, doesn't sound a big deal and it may well be migrainous neuralga....Google it.

Danny, it is random.
Thanks sqad, will google it.
That sounds very similar to symptoms I get on occasion. A sudden excruciating "wack" which leaves me saying "No ! Don't come back, don't come back, please not again". And it tends to be just one hit, or if unlucky perhaps three. Never knew what it was. Sort of thought it might be dental related.

Hi OG, sorry to hear you suffer too. It is like lightening going through my head so quickly, then it is gone. I am not overly concerned, it doesn't last long. x
In that case, Islander,...are you currently taking an SSRI?

Hi Baths, yes, I take a low dose 20mg Fluoxetine. Might that be your train of thought ?
Hi Islander. Yep, that's what I was exploring. I bet the head zaps are connected to the Prozac.

From time to time I get what seem like electrical shocks just behind or in front of my ear... I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia...it is awful.
I have it too PP, and it is just coming active again after being dormant for quite a while. :-(
