Has anyone tried the new pill as alternative to insulin injection? I have to make a decision and would like first hand knowledge please.
How does it work on your body?
Anyone out there know?

Thanks

What is the "new pill?"

I presume that you have been suggested that Insulin is your next move as you are an uncontrolled Type 2 diabetic, in which case the "new pill" would be a revelation.
I don't know when this was published, but it would appear there have been clinical trials of oral insulin tablets.

And there is this from the US ....

pasta...I don't think dorothy means an Insulin taken by mouth, but means a tablet taken by mouth which obviates the needs for an Insulin injection.
In other words, a new drug, not Insulin, which lowers the blood sugar.
i have just been put on victoza(pen)I don't think its insulin though,

Thanks for your responses. The tablet my GP is offering I don't think is oral insulin but something which extracts the sugar through your urine. I'd like to know about any side effects.
Maybe if you post the name of the drug ...that may help you get more specific answers.

Hi guys, thanks for your interest. I have continued my research (GP on holiday this week) and the pills are:- canagliflozin (Invokana) cleared March 2015 and dapagliflozip (Farxiga) approved last week. I have found out a little more about side effects - more peeing and possible bladder infections, but if anyone out there can give me first hand information, that would be great.
