HI there
I have an organisation I am working with and they have told me that they sent documents to me by 2nd class mail last tuesday. I still have not received them. I phoned them this morning and they told me that they thought the Easter Holiday Monday might have held things up. I am wondering whether I am being told the truth. Would it really take 7 days for 2nd class mail?

Royal Mail aim to deliver 2nd class mail within 5 days so with the Easter holidays a letter could easily take seven days.

It would not be totally unreasonable for it to take that long.

Give it a couple of days - they have nothing to gain from lying to you.

Took six months for a postcard to come from Scotland to Bedford that went second class to my Mum, so 7 days doesn't seem too bad!
We send everything second class and advise customers to allow 10 working days for it!
My mate posted me a party invite last Thursday and it came Saturday morning. Two days ain't bad, doubt first class would have arrived any sooner.
It varies all the time gordie, you just have to take pot luck really !
its not seven days because three of them were bank holidays when a reduced service applies. This also causes a mail back up because people still post stuff.
3 bank holidays?
I used the term bank loosely, should have said “public” Friday, Sunday and Monday
No doubt Gordie has a female postie, that will explain everything in his small world.
Oh my I thought Gordie was a female!!
