I understand that in some (maybe all) states of the USA couples have to have blood tests before they can marry. What are they tested for?

Thank you. Seems like its only a few states that do it nowadays. I have particular reason for asking, just something that popped into my head last night when sleep alluded me.

A late addition to the test regime is a new one for the Trump gene. Detection results in a court order banning attempts to breed.
Splutter ..... !
You're wasted in 'Body and Soul' topic Douglas , have you tried 'Jokes'?
