Except under the dishwasher cupboard door. because the door goes down there has to be a space for the door at the bottom to go into when open. But there is a skirting / plinth under the cupboards... When the door is closed you can see a gap... Which doesn't look good.! is there anything I can do to cover it that will just go up and flap down again when you close it.? Lol hope that hasn't confused you? .

Difficult to picture but if there's a gap it is presumably under the dishwasher so can you create your own plinth further back under the washer ? Where it won't interfere with the door.

Thankyou. but it is one long plinth that goes under all of it.. the instructions said to take the amount of it off for the door.!
Know exactly what you mean, my missus always moans about the gap under the dishwasher door but it has to be there to enable the door to open
As you've discovered, there has to be clearance for the door to open.
The washer has to be fixed as high as possible up to the top of the cabinet. Also, the door must be attached to the washer as high as you can get it.

A gap is inevitable, but should be around 15mm only. With some, it may only be 5-10mm.

Maybe the fitter has overcompensated, and cut off too much.
It must depend on the design of the dishwasher because there's no cut out in the plinth of mine. The door hinges above and forward of the top of the plinth by 50mm and about 35 mm respectively. The dummy wooden door attached to the metal dishwasher door is 50mm longer than the hinge point. When opened, the bottom of the dummy door arcs backwards and up, just missing the top of the plinth. It's a Bosch, but if the design doesn't accommodate this I don't see you can do much.

Thankyou for all the replies.. It is a Magnet Kitchen.... But anyway it is cut now so there is nothing I can do about it. but I dont like it! lol... I was just wondering if there was a strip that bends in the middle that one side you could stick down and the other half could flap up when the door opened...There isnt one is there.?

Ask your fitter to get you a new plinth and do it again.
I've just had a kitchen fitted and must say, I have to sit on the floor to see the cut out in the plinth. I didn't even realise it was cut out until I had a look after seeing this thread.
