Mods can't move threads, maybe the Ed will tomorrow.

Thanks for that info .I'll pop back on tomorrow.
I will still attempt to answer your post though - I have always found it almost impossible to hate anyone in the true sense of the word (yes, barring murderers terrorists etc), I don't follow tennis so know little about Andy and his brother.

However my heart goes out to everyone who was touched personally by that shocking day and the long shadows it has cast.

As you say, never forgotten.

Thanks for answering :)
i'm all for personal opinions and stuff but after all the bad press there's been and also all the press there's been with 'celebs' I truly think he deserves a break .I don't think he cares if he gets one but all i'm saying is he hasn't courted publicity ever, he hasn't sold out ....wedding , daughter etc.
He has harboured distress we can only start to imagine but hasn't abused it.
Yet people hate him? i'd be droll as well if I didnt feel I owed you, which he doesn't.
Who has said they hate him?
I know a lot of people have said they don't like him because he comes across as grumpy, and all the nonsense that still perpuates about him being anti-English. So much rubbish.
I'm a big fan, and know he hardly ever talks about the terrible tragedy in Dunblane.
I agree there is no reason to hate him. He's a great man, for all the reasons you mention and more, D_L

.
Emotions going a bit haywire on this thread, aren't they ? Hate ? Great ? Where's all this extreme stuff coming from for a tennis player ? Hardy the only person affected by terrorism.
I don't particularly like him but I don't hate him - I don't know him enough for that. The fact that he was caught up in those events have no effect on my liking or disliking him.
Moved to sport, although it is obviously not directly related to sport, it's notable for the sportsman it's about.
I wouldn't describe what happened at Dunblane as terrorism OG , though I agree that the use of the word 'hate' is often blurted out when simple dislike of a person would suffice.

Unfortunately there is a section of the community who conceal their inadequate socialisation behind vocal expressions of hate.

Another recent example being the outrageous chants at the Manchester v Liverpool football match.

Sadly they'll probably always be with us.

Thanks you all for taking the time to reply . I have to confess I came on AB to reply to another question.
I then intended to go back to the Debating Forum to put forth my views re Andy and Dunblane but as you can see I got confused , I posted in Food and Drink and thankfully the Ed moved me out of harms way :)
Once I realised I ran with it but haven't had the courage to come back !
You all made very salient points and I appreciate your time .
