I am receiving for gastric band weight loss. I have had four sessions now and have put a pound or so on. I am still as hungry as ever. Even after I have had a session I come out hungry. I have the 'band' fitted next week but I believe I am not a suitable candidate for this treatment and do not want to proceed. I expressed my thoughts to the lady in charge and all she keeps saying is 'it will work'. I don't believe her. She says other people that started the same time as me have lost weight. I am following her guidelines, but the treatment is not taking the edge off my hunger. What should I do, I spent a lot of money to have this treatment and have one next week and another 6 weeks after that.

Hypnosis only works if the subject totally believes it does. Tamaris has already said that she believes that she it is not suitable for her and that it has had no effect so far, as she still feels as hungry as ever. Going on with this will just waste more time as well as money. Demand a refund and spend the money going to weight-watchers or or slimming world.

I was not advised,,,,no
tamaris.......not rude........just stating fact.
Did you not do any homework?

Finish the treatment. Try be a bit more positive prior to the sessions. Good luck.
I'd have thought it self evident that treatment doesn't always work. I don't know what the Hypnotherapy industry rules are re what has to be spelt out beforehand, but I'd suspect one was hoping for a gesture on the part of the hypnotherapy in order to preserve reputation. In any case I'm unsure this treatment has been given a decent try. But best of luck.

Thank you Eddie, for understanding my post properly x
tamaris, did you know that your GP can prescribe a course of 12 weeks at weight-watchers? (free of charge if you get free prescriptions !)
You have to be classed as obese to qualify. My wife has had 2 lots of free sessions so far and has lost 3 stone. The doctor gives you a certificate that you take to your nearest weight-watchers to register for the free sessions.
I concur Eddie
Did you sign anything, tamaris? No disclaimer, leaflets or anything?
Question Author
Eddie yes I know about that but I have brittle bones and can not do at present as just recovering from another broken wrist x

Pixie..I have a broken wrist and could not sign anything properly. I do not beleive I did though. There was a form but I think it was mostly my details x
They should have a copy... It might be worth asking them to show you exactly what it said x

I sent them a message today and the owner rang me back with attitude talking to me like I was a 5 year old (this was not the woman that treated me) I told her I did not want to discuss it on the phone and that she could reply to me in writing.
Yes, I don't think whether you"should have" known or not is relevant. This is their business, should be professional and they should be able to show that they have given you the right information. If you ask for proof of it, they might decide a refund is less hassle. Good luck xx

Thank you Pixie worth thinking about x
Eddie I gave to disagree with you there. I was a total non believer and was sent for Hypnotherapy as a requirement to keep my employment at the time and it totally worked. I think like others have said, you have to be susceptible to it.

That said you cannot evict results over night. No therapy can guarantee results just as it wouldn't work instantaneously. But if you're unhappy you should discuss it.
Greedy fly some people are just not able to be hypnotised , if you are not a 'hypnotic subject' it does not matter if you believe in it or not it will not work!
Question Author
Eddie is right it is not right for some people and I am one of them.
I don't think one should describe those who can be hypnotised as being susceptible as if it were some kind of weakness. It's more the case that some folk find that they are unable/unwilling to let go and enter the relaxed state. I suspect that it's a concern regarding loss of control, that holds them back.
