I've just caught the tail end of The One Show and was amused to see the family home of an actor; whose name escapes me, he played Blair in The Queen. There were many family photos and mementos on display.

Anyway, if you had to have cameras in your house would you run around dressing the set, or even worse the house of your parents where your school swimming club photos are still displayed - would you cringe?

As a slight aside, do you revisit your photos and ornaments to update/trim them or do you see them as a part of life's rich tapestry?

I don't have any photos out and no ornaments - all the stuff I have on surfaces are 'things' the kids have made, books and bloody Lego.

Very light on ornaments, photos are thin on the ground too, we have albums for those. To be honest you would learn very little about us from walking around our home and unless you were close you would not have access to our memorabilia.

Sherrard, watch what you say I got a Lego kit for Christmas!!!!

Beldic, I had to snigger at not getting access to your memorabilia......sorry! :-(
No photos on display and very few ornaments.

Little things Eccles, little things!

;o)
We seem to have moved on from Lego but made-up sets are everywhere (I'm supposed to be fixing them all and bagging them up with their instructions - the Death Star is looking very sorry for itself).
You could tell my life story from my home. Lots of pictures and animal objects. No real animals though...And lots of cushions, I love cushions

(Michael Sheen?)
I hardly have any photos in my house. I prefer pictures and plants. Since my parents and my cat died, I do have pictures of them though. Our family has always been superstitious about pictures falling over/off the wall when someone is about to die. Maybe that is why I never had any.

I have family photos on display but they have a place, there are only one or two other photos dotted around the house. I seem to have a lot of things that need dusting but they are functional, bowls, platters, jugs etc on display. School trophies are firmly in the loft or dump, who wants to know 40yrs on I came fourth in the 5 metre breast stroke?

Yes Mazie, it was Michael Sheen.
I have lots of family photos. Lots of wall plates. Lots of blue glass things. And cats, glass ones, blue glass ones, pottery ones, slate ones, wooden ones, even a white China toilet brush holder like a cat.
^^^^^ I forgot, a crystal one.

A Cat toilet brush, does the tail go round the bend?
Its not the brush that's the shape of a cat. It's the brush holder. But must say that would be handy getting the tail round the bend.
