But there are people that really belive its true. I don't recall the word allegory being used when I was in school....I was taught it as a fact. Things were very black and white in the 50's and it wasn't just the nuns !

Mamy...if chalk was black instead of white, I am fairly certain that we would have learned our letters from whiteboards instead !

I can recall all the blackboards being washed down with soap and water during the school hols by the caretaker and him cursing all the teachers that used coloured chalk !
