When we finally get the chance to vote in a referendum on whether to stay or leave the EU does anyone know whether it will be a simple choice of A or B or a confusing gobbledegook of government questioning ?

Well, I don't really know, not being a government insider, but my guess is that it will be a kind of fudge. Cameron won't ask us a straight, definite, direct question. He will try to please the ins and the outs, and will end up pleasing nobody.
I believe it will be of the form :

Tick Box A if you want to have your relatives molested by marauding immigrants and all your money sent to Bongo Bongo Land to buy iPhones for rich children

Tick Box B if you want the UK to return to a 1950's style "Land of Milk and Honey" populated entirely by white, middle-class, heterosexual families.

Seems legit to me ...

"Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?

Remain a member of the European Union
Leave the European Union"

Old Sunny Dave making light of women, pensioners and children being raped ... nice!
Sorry Tablet - I must press my Irony Klaxon more loudly in future ...
Some never understand satire sunny.
Or not use the crisis as a political football for point scoring. Lets be honest when the opposition is knocking the ball about you get all righteous.

I would like us to stick to the original template of joining with Europe in a Common Market to trade with Europe as a sort of club member. It seems to me that things have escalated out of all proportion into a federal Europe. I would like the referendum question paper to actually give us the option of governing our own country from Westminster with complete control over our own borders.
The EU referendum voting slips have already been printed, here is an image of one

Thanks EDDIE51
There is a Welsh language version as well, that has the same wording but in English and Welsh.
Apparently there was some trouble with the Welsh version because the Welsh word 'bara' could mean either 'stay' or 'bread'!
I honestly do nt u derstand the point of referenda. I vote for other people who can make difficult decisions on my behalf
Jackdow33 The chosen wording was 'Remain in the EU' or 'Leave the EU' partly because there was an exact non ambiguous translation to Welsh. The word 'stay' was not considered.
Bednobs then unless you voted UKIP you would have no option but to accept a 'Remain in the EU' decision. That is the point of a referendum to find out what the people want.
I thought he said it was going to be a simple In or Out vote
Eddie, I know that. The word 'para', a form of parhau was chosen, but as it followed the word neu' (or) it was mutated to 'bara'.
Ignore my comment - I missed the link from EDDIE
when you vote in a general election, you vote for the party that accords with your views on most things. If the EU was important to you, you would vote for a party who had the same views as you. I already spent a long time deciding who to vote for, i really don't understand why i wouldn't want those highly paid MPs who franly know more about the ins and outs than me to make the decision on my behalf
EDDIE, there were eleven variations of the question tested out on folk and one of them was,

Should the United Kingdom stay a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?

Stay a member of the European Union/
Leave the European Union
