I want to pass my old iPhone 4 over to a young relative but I want to ensure that all my persona data is removed first. Am I looking for a "restore to factory settings2 sort-of thing ?

And how do I do it ?

Go to Settings/General/Reset/Erase All Contents and Settings. The phone is ready for starting from new or start from an iCloud ID.

Be careful. Someone did this to give me their iPhone but they wiped absolutely everything and rendered the iphone completely
Useless. Sold it in cash converters as they could sort it.
