Win 10 Msconfig/safe Mode/system Restore

To be as brief as possible, I need to attempt to restore a checkpoint to reverse driver updates that seem to be the cause of problems.

PC made some ludicrous excuse if not being able to as it had no access to some file. Decided to boot into safe mode and try again.

Used msconfig to set safe mode boot. Got into safe mode.

In safe mode no sign of restore can be found ! Neither does the search work so I can't access msconfig to reset to normal boot. Nor can I find a dos window command.

Stuck and can't seem to find the way out. Suggestions please ?

Oh wow, I've just found a directory C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\353.30 and one named C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\GeForce335.23Driver. Unsure why there is none named 353.82 though. Going to check that out; maybe next week.

Assume your are using a 32-bit Windows system:

You currently have installed latest NVidia Driver for Windows 10 (ver 361.75)?:-

Then, if of any use, previous Windows 10 NVidia Driver (ver 353.62, not the 353.82 you mentioned in last post) available from:-

I couldn't wait, I found a number of sub-directories under C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver.

The first two I tried both seemed to lose one of my two monitors ?!?
But (and I think it was 347.88, but not 100% sure now as I didn't make a note) seems to have improved things. It's meant to be Win 7 drivers. I'm unconvinced it won't crash at some point but it's been a reasonable while now.

Thanks for the links. I may download a few more just in case. The NVidia website seems to prune older versions leaving just a handful available. Worth having a few copies around.

Restore list sounds useful too. Cheers muchly.

Update.

One crash (game only) in half a day. Will stick while I'm "ahead".
