My son was killed in a car accident in Australia in Nov 2015.
He died without a will and we have managed to finalise some of his estate but now believe he had bank a account or accounts that we were unaware of.

How do I go about finding out? is there a common email address for all banks in Australia that I can contact?
He lived in Adelaide so I am assuming that the accounts would be with an Adelaide bank.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your son.

VERY BAD idea to put your email address in a public forum.

This will be found by scammers and spammers.

Suggest you get it removed.
as above !!
ask at the Australian Embassy nearest you for help
Contact the Australia High Commission at Australia House London
Tel 020 7379 4334.
Just to say how sorry I was to hear you were bereaved
and then had this relative mess to clear up

I think you may be reduced to writing to each and every bank
The only other thing would be to ask the new tenants of where he was living to send on all his mail one of which would be a bank statement

or if he were employed ask the employer for the bank details they paid into.

Data protection is not an issue - remember that you are your sons rep on earth and can do anything in law he could ( same rule applies in OZ) .- Effectively in law he ( as you ) are demanding his own data
So sorry for your loss. here are banks

PP, most UK banks now offer 'paperless' statements on line only, Australia may be the same.
thx FF
the estate I cleared up April 2015
clearly erm not my own
I did it all on paper
( insolvent - I didnt expect the disappointed creditors to accept anything electronic )
