Can anyone tell me if it possible to record immediately a TV programme. I can manage the timer and am not interested in pause live TV. The manual says set the channel,press REC and then select automatic stop. When I press the red button all I get is the text menu. MyTV is a Sony KDL HWT 130. Any help would be appreciated

I've looked at the manual for your model & the remote is almost identical to mine.

You need to press the "Rec" button underneath the all-red button - it has a small red circle on it.

You should then get a box with choices of "Automatic Stop" - "Recording Time" (increments of 30 mins) - "Continuous Recording".

Are you sure that you're pressing the correct button?

It's NOT the SOLID RED button on the coloured line (ABOVE where it says 'REC') but the one with the RED DOT (BELOW where it says 'REC').

Lie in king and Buenchico thank you very much for your time and expertise. As you both correctly spotted I have been pressing the wrong button . Have just tried and succeeded in recording a programme. Thanks
