Hello all again

I am currently planning a wake, pretty sure we have found a venue and we will be providing food for the attendees.

Besides some nice music and a bar am I missing anything obvious? I have only ever planned a wedding before and that is a very different occasion.

Thanks

You`ve just got to go with the kind of person the deceased and their friends were. My parents were never drinkers and neither were their friends so their funerals were sedate affairs with the WI providing the food in the local village hall (in my Dad`s case) and some champagne and sandwiches back at my Mum`s house (in her case). The wake is about the person that had died, not the attendees.
// many people do not think it correct to drink alcohol at such an occasion.//

Jeez clearly not members of my family
non alcohol for drivers of course

the only difficulty I had was having no idea at all who was gonna turn up
Neither for mine and most Cornish wakes try to drink the pub dry, lock-downs and all.....!
That's Methodism for you - what method to clean the optics out......
Most Cornish wakes that I have been to have been pretty dry. Just sandwiches, tea and cakes. That`s the case with the locals anyway. I can`t speak for outsiders though
