You're comparing the floods in this wealthy country to a disaster of huge magnitude in a country where people had nothing to start with, smurfchops?

I agree that the floods are devastating for those involved but they are not at risk of starvation, cholera or any other deadly disease. There are no bodies rotting in the streets, the hospitals aren't overwhelmed, the water supply isn't polluted. Insurance companies will pay out and have already made emergency payments to cover immediate needs, the government is helping out in the meantime and donations are pouring in.

The floods in Cumbria just flooded the houses, the houses and towns are still there and mainly still fully intact. The Boxing day Tsunami totally washed away entire towns leaving no buildings at all. Same for a major earthquake, the damage is several orders of magnitude greater.
