Does anyone know how to do this, please. We're buying a mini for my mother in law for her christmas present and, whilst we could ask the peeps in the shop to do it for us, just wondering how easy or hard it is to do this ourselves. Hope you can help, many thanks. Chox.

Just plug it in and iTunes should sync everything across. Having said that, Apple have an annoying habit of not ticking the little box to sync apps / music / notes etc so you will probably need to tick these for it to sync correctly.
Of course, If she's backed up to iCloud, you can do it via that as you work your way through the 'let's get started' pages.
To be doubly sure, plug old iPad into iTunes, select 'backup to this computer' and 'encrypt backup' and then do a backup. Once complete log out of Apple account on old iPad. Plug new iPad into iTunes and when it asks if you want to set up as new or restore from a previous select the restore option and the backup you just made and Bob's your uncle. Because you have an encrypted backup it will copy all the passwords across as well.
