Is it wrinkly skin or loose skin?
Question Author
More wrinkly than loose, I'd say. I know it's better to be thinnish and wrinkled rather than plump and smooth.
How hydrated are you? I know dehydration can cause wrinkly skin.
Question Author
That wouldn't be the cause. I've lost more than 3 St since the summer so a few wrinkles are probably inevitable.
Well done, Sandy, has it been hard?

My sister and niece need to lose weight but they can't seem to stick to a diet for more than a week.
Well done on your weight loss, Sandy. Now you can let yourself go at Christmas.
Where have the wrinkles appeared? A few wrinkles on your tummy won't matter and a few wrinkles on your face will make you look more distinguished.
If it's what others may think of your appearance that concerns you, Sandy, the solution may be only going outside when you can walk into a strong headwind to smooth everything out.
Alternatively a judiciously placed Bulldog clip or two applied to the gathered skin works wonders.
:))
Some good answers here. I think it's a case of just plain getting older. It's like having a baby; if you're 20 everything pings back with no problem, but if you're older it's difficult to get skin and everything as it was.
Well done on your weight loss. Don't worry about the other problems.

I know the health advantages far outweigh the cosmetic disadvantages but having a tummy that looks like a dehydrated elephants bottom wasn't what I had in mind. :-)
Sandy, I lost 3 stone a couple of years back and initially looked pretty dire unless held together by lycra. As we're of an age, the skin doesn't shrink back quickly or at all. Good news is, there's been some shrinkage since then, and I look less like the skin's been draped on than I did. Not perfect, but some improvement. Either way it's better not to be carrying the weight.
