Hi, I'm trying to think of a topic that will attract hundreds of comments but will eventually deteriorate into a slanging match between the usual suspects and result in the thread being deleted thus wasting everybody's time.
I'd prefer one that's not been done to death already please.

Thanks.

Douglas explain yourself!!

Yes I'd like that but why can't it be done in the evning? All the good stuff happens in the day time and then by the time I'm home it's often been zapped.
Topics that attract loads are left v right, muslims, gay, cliques and mods. It also needs to be in News otherwise it will be full of people who love one another on CB.
And I am out most of the day!!!

It's probably best to wait for evening right enough. There will be a few sore fingers about this morning after last nights spraff fest.
I wonder what happened to tip the scales after I went to bed. :-)
There was one on News yesterday - but it got pulled late last night.
Pick any subject ...
A better question to ask would be "Why are whole threads pulled, when certain threads that break Site Rules could easily just be removed, and usually are.

And I mean just those that break Site Rules and not just one's that upset a particular person.

If the Mods are doing their job without personal prejudices, then the report button should be removed.
It would seem that most enjoy a good slanging match?
AOG - //If the Mods are doing their job without personal prejudices, then the report button should be removed. //

The Editorial Team cannot be on air 24/7 - likewise the Moderators so the Report Button allows any AB'er to flag up a concern which may otherwise be missed.

With regard to 'personal prejudices' - it has ben explained times without number that Mods have to provide a reason for removing a post or a thread - they don't just do it on a whim.

I would suggest that any Mod who is perceived as having a personal agenda that affects their operation, they would have their status terminated.
Looks like your wish is coming true douglas

It's all Andy's fault, blame him :-)
...and they're off! There you go, Douglas. Job done! ;o)
I didn't realise until yesterday that some of the people are moderators. Probably obvious but I didn't get it. I think being a moderator and posting opinions could get complicated. It is to me like a referee playing for one side in a football game. Wouldn't it be better to have 2 personas on here?
Ooooh like being a double agent Gav??

Interesting point.
Any popcorn?
It's obvious to me that a moderator has removed a couple of threads and someone has taken it personally. I had this at work where over a short period I had to address some issues with the same person. I liked her and it wasn't personal but she became rather annoying afterwards. I would of preferred the management to of dealt with the issues but they were absent or escalated things to the highest degree.
Would have. To have.
time for a good old fashioned flounce thread, that used to get tongues clucking............
Well it's the evening now, can we try and get this thread up to full speed?
Unfortunately not, it's all gone on the fun thread.
