Ok, this is a 'whinge-in'.

'Poncification': when things in everyday life become 'poncified'.
I'm sure you know what I mean, but in case you don't, it's the pretentious tarting up of every day things we normally just accept as normal and mundane.

I'll give a couple of infuriating examples that irritate me...

1) Ferrero Rocher (thanks UKAnonymous for the inspiration) - sweets made to look like what they ain't.

2) 'Stand-alone' sinks in pubs that have been 'done up' complete with little squirty top soap/moisturiser dispensers.

'Executive summary'

Nobody has ever been able to explain to me how that differs from a summary.
And it's usually, strictly speaking' the summary produced by the person forced to do the minutes and write them up.
restaurants that think veg is a luxury commodity if you prepare it like an ornament and charge £25 for 2 spuds and a carrot!
what about estate agents, no doubt somewhere near you they have added the word "village" or "park" or even "Manor" to some less than salubrious locale - near me is is a complete forest gump that is now Sh1tsville Manor! no such place exists except in Estate agents windows!
