losgigs - //It was fine. Can't believe how Ken puts up with Tracy's (and her daughter's) unbelievably rude behaviour. Isn't it time she moved out into her own place? ( i know it's not real) :) //
The 'trapped' element of soaps is what makes them work - and of course it directly opposite to standard 'real life' behaviour.
If you found yourself living in the claustrophobic atmosphere of a soap life - everyone manacled together and living within a few seconds walk of each other, and being terminally horrible and causing trouble as though it is a profession - then you'd do the sensible thing and move away!
But soaps are about interaction and conflict, and you can't have that if people are too separate - they have to be hot-housed so they can get upset and tearful and shouty and miserable and paranoid and vicious and all the other unpleasant human traits that soap audiences seem to love to see displayed.
So to cut a long story short - yes it is time Tracey moved out / was kicked out - but therein ends the tense set-up that provides the conflict, so you can be sure she won't be going anywhere anytime soon!
